Project 365 Day 57

I have been working on some Lightroom tutorials and thought this floral display would make for an excellent trial photo.  I'm having so much fun exploring my creative side :)

Have a great day!

Project 365 Day 56

Blueberry Tea...actually it has nothing at all to do with blueberries, but is a delicious treat to enjoy with friends after a walk in the snow.  Amaretto, Grand Marnier and piping hot tea: a wonderfully unexpected combination of flavours.

Have a great day.  I recommend the tea :)

Speed Scrap Page Gotta Pixel

Connie Prince hosts a regular chat and speed scrap at Gotta Pixel.  Last night I participated for the first time and today I finished this page.  I'm delighted with the way it turned out.  These pics are from New Year's at our cabin.  My dd and my best friends kids are so good together.  They had great fun in the snow and with the fireworks.  My firend is ready to have baby #3 at any time.  I can't wait to meet the new member of our gang!

Have a great day!

Project 365 Day 54

Here they are...the new colors for my dd's bedroom and the inspiration for them.  Now all I have to do is sand, plaster, prime, paint...whose idea was this???

Have a great day.

Project 365 Day 52

Glow golf is a fun afternoon for 5 year olds.  Here are my dd and a couple of her friends showing off the required attitude for walking the runway...oops, sorry, I mean fairway.  Hehehe.  They were so cute.

Have a great day.

Project 365 Day 51

Home again!  I love to go, but there's nothing better than coming home.

Today was the final workshop in my Nate Gates photo class.  He had a model for us and we spent about an hour and a half on the waterfront taking pics with his coaching.  I learned a great deal with camera in hand and immediate feedback.  Then, we went back to Wild Lily or a session on processing/developing.  It was great.  I have been wandering around in my photography and PSE and Lightroom for a long while with only a little progress.  Nate's demonstration answered many questions and gave me tips I may never have found on my own.

I could not choose just one shot.  I was pleased with several of them and liked the different finishes they show.  So...here are a few of my faves...

I will probably choose this one for my 365 scrapbook, because it tells the story of today's workshop...and I like the funky angle view.

Here is a closer shot.  Beautiful girl n'est-ce pas?

Have a great day

Project 365 Day 50

50 days has passed very quickly!

DH was busy in meetings today, so I had some time to myself to explore Moncton.  Here is one sample of what I found.

Playing around with the black and white finishing was interesting, so I tried a self portrait as well.  This is me :)

Have a great day!

Project 365 Day 49

If you are ever in Moncton, you may want to try an evening at The Old Triangle.  It's an Irish style pub that frequently offers live entertainment.  Tonight the band was Masons Tender.  Sonny's Dream, Paddy Murphy, The Wreck of the Florizel:  they could have been from home.  Fun times.

Have a great day!

Project 365 Day 48

I have several dishes that belonged to my grandmother. I chose these today, both, because they are pretty, and because the cabinet in which they are stored came from dh's grandmother. These dishes were a gift from Nan when dh and I were first married and setting up our home. She dearly loved to cook and to celebrate almost any occasion with a family meal. She also loved anything that sparkled. I miss her and feel fortunate to have these keepsakes.

Have a great day!

Project 365 Day 46

Most of my days are spent with my girl and her friends. Lots of snow means lots of snow people. My new hobby:  making snowbabies with the kids.

I am pleased to introduce to you...Frosty Sarah... and Snow Happy. These are snowkids for the larger snowmen decorating our neighborhood.

Here's hoping you have as many snowbabies as you want :)

Project 365 Day 45

You gotta love rented shoes!

No, they were not my Valentine's Day present.

We spent our Valentine's Day afternoon together laughing at each other as we tried to play bowling. What a hoot!

I hope your day was a happy one!

Chinese Takeaway - a nice relaxing finish to a busy day.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Project 365 Day 43

Today's weather...FREEZING RAIN...yucky yucky yucky!  Grey wet days that keep you indoors make me sad :(

I did venture out as far as the grocery store and am delighted I did.  As I entered the store, a cheerful display of hundreds of Valentine's flowers greeted me and immediately made me smile.  Trusty point and shoot in my pocket, I had to take a pic for today.  These beat the heck out of a shot of freezing rain, drizzle and fog.

Hoping they cheer you too...

Project 365 Day 42

Though we complain about the snow when it is falling, Snow Fun is some of the best kind of fun! Forts and tunnels certainly make the walk home from the bus stop more interesting.  (More snow in the forecast for tonight! Yippee!)

Have a great day!

Project 365 Day 41

Today we booked a trip to the West Coast in the spring.  I'm so excited.
Vancouver - Banff and Jasper - Yellowknife

I couldn't find a site to show personalized flight plans, so I took a picture of the Google Maps version to mark this happy day in my 365.  I'm sure I'll get lots of good pics on the trip!

Have a great day!

Project 365 Day 40

A bit of a mess, but the cookies were yummy!

We made the batter together, then dd baked hers in her Easy Bake Oven from Auntie D.

When they were done we had ice cold milk and warm chocolate chip cookies.  Delicious.

Have a great day.

Project 365 Day 39

An action shot.

Here is dd playing Wii bowling in the new Habs jersey her Daddy brought her from Montreal.  I love the purple leggings and the ankle bracelet.  She is a girl who knows what she likes!

Have a great day!

Project 365 Day 38

Today we made a mobile.  Special thanks go to Polly Pocket who lent us her shoes and boots for the pipe cleaner fairies.  Great fun!

Have a great day!

Project 365 Day 37

My sweet girl made me a bracelet today.  She chose all the letters and strung them herself.  She was very proud of herself when she was done.  I wore it all day and ensured it landed carefully among all my other gems for the night.

I love this pic because she is working so intently.

Hoping you have a great day!

Project 365 Day 36

Housebound...ughh!

I enjoy winter when you can get outside and do something.  Snowstorms that keep you cooped up inside make me sad.  We have been living a blizzard for the last 12 hours or so and it is expected to last for the next 24 hours.  Here is the view from one of my kitchen windows...to think that yesterday I could see grass.  I can't wait to see what tomorrow brings.

Here's hoping all of you are safe and warm

UPDATE!  Ughh...it continues...

It's only 9:00 and they say we'll get another 20-25 cm before morning and it will continue to snow throughout the day tomorrow.  Sunday better be a SUN day so we can at least go sliding and enjoy the snow!

View from inside this window... all of this is new snow today :)

It's interesting to note how snow drifs in bizarre ways.  There is no snow in front of the garage!

Just me and my camera.

Have a great day.

Project 365 Day 34

Today's prompt from Gotta Pixel was to photograph a pet.  This adorable mini schnauzer was my very first pet, and an important member of our family.  For our 10th anniversary, dh had a local artist, Ken Power, paint this for me as a surprise.  He took me out to supper and it was hanging on the wall of the restaurant next to our table.  How sweet!

Have a great day!

Project 365 Day 33

Do you have love?  It's easy to find in the eyes of Daddy and Daughter.

Wishing you all some of this kind of love this month :)
Hope you have a great day!

Project 365 Day 32

Oh no!  From here on I have to keep track of the days without the date!!!  Just kidding.  I'm so glad to have made it through the first month.  Only 11 more to go!

Anyone interested in a tropical cruise?  Polly Pocket has loaded the yacht with cake and jewelery.  All you have to do is show up.

Can you guess who took the picture today?  Yep, my dd.  I let her use my "big" camera and she was thrilled.

Have a great day!
