Project 365 Day 242

Another lovely afternoon with fun, friends and water.  Check out my rascally rascal schemer trying to squirt her friend.

Have a great day...try to avoid the wet end of the hose :)

Project 365 Day 241

Lazy summer days are the absolute best.  Today, we read books, filled the paddle pool and set back for a truly relaxing afternoon.  Friends came by a little later on and joined us then for a BBQ.  Ah summer...

Enjoy your day!

Project 365 Day 240

Car cleaning today.  Scrub, vacuum, glass, even the wax finish to top it off.  Then I treated myself by attaching the cute Disney family decals I bought in Florida this summer.

Have a great day!

Project 365 Day 239

Dress up is always fun at our house.  Even the boys get in on the play.  These best buds are so adorable together.

Have a great day!

Project 365 Day 238

First real manicure...well, sort of.  Dd accompanied me to the beauty salon today.  She was totally thrilled when Tara, one of the estheticians, offered to paint her nails while she waited for Mommy.  Awesome!

Have a great day!

Project 365 Day 237

This is the before photo,  I'm gradually moving back into my classroom.  I can hardly believe school starts in only two weeks!

Have a great day!

Project 365 Day 234

On the road again...I took this on our way home from Terra Nova.  We got underway before lunch and got home early.  I've spent the better part of this lazy day getting caught up on my 365 pics and this blog.  Whew...I think I'm finally up to date.  :)

Have a great day!

Project 365 Day 233

Today, we went on a playground hunt and found a great one along the water in Shoal Harbour.  I couldn't resist including this shot because it captures her exactly as I see her these days.  Beautiful.

Have a great day!

Project 365 Day 232

While Daddy was in his meetings today, Mommy and dd went to Salton's Brook to visit the Marine Interpretation Center.  We have been before, but she enjoys it more and more each year.  The touch tank was well stocked with starfish, sea cucumbers, scallops, hermit crabs, small codfish, flounder, anemone, sea peaches...and more, I'm sure.  Dd loved finding all the creatures of different sizes and searching for more in the corals and under the rocks.  Wonderful curiosity.  This is just one of her new friends:

Have a great day!

Project 365 Day 231

The annual engineering retreat at Terra Nova began today. All the board members, Daddy included, have several days of meetings, but the families get to enjoy the resort. Evening festivities are shared by all. We have been fortunate to participate in this retreat for 6 or 7 years now and look forward to it every August.

In this shot, dd is a little surprised to find that the heated pool in Newfoundland is much colder than the unheated pool in Florida. That said, she only had a brief moment of hesitation before jumping in and splashing the afternoon away with some friends.

Have a great day!

Project 365 Day 230

A wonderful blue sky with cotton clouds.  Keep the summer days coming.  :)

Have a great day!

Project 365 Day 229

Shenanigans at the park.  Dd and her friend always have a great time when they get together.

Summer Transportation...

Have a great day!

Project 365 Day 227

It was a truly beautiful summer day today.  Warm, sunny with a slight breeze, it was the perfect day for a trip to Cape Spear.  We had a picnic and wandered around the most easterly point in North America.

Have a great day!

Project 365 Day 226

Yay!  We're going to have another new baby in our family!  Congrats to Auntie B and Uncle T!

That makes two new cousins for dd.  We already know that my sister is having another boy in November.  Dd wants this next one to be a girl cousin and wasted no time in telling Auntie B's belly to turn into a girl.  Priceless.

Have a great day!

Project 365 Day 225

Daddy and daughter are having their first camp out!  It came complete with BBQ, campfire, marshmallows, smores, shadow puppets and cuddles.  AWESOME!

Have a great day!

Project 365 Day 224

These are the most interesting white flowers I have seen in my garden.  I did not plant them, but found them growing among some moss under a black spruce tree.  Feel free to identify this plant if you know what it is.  I just thought they were a pretty, and unexpected discovery.

Have a great day!

Project 365 Day 223

Here dd is showing you her personally designed (by her), and custom made (by me) homework bag as requested by her grade 1 teacher.  Tinkerbell, purple sequins and butterfly iron on patches...Homework should be a breeze this year n'est-ce pas?

Have a great day!

Project 365 Day 222

School starts next month and dd is going to first grade.  I decided it was time for a desk, but could not find one I liked to go with her bedroom furniture.  So, I bought an unfinished one and am in the process of finishing and antiquing a new desk.  Hopefully we'll be able to park in the garage before school starts.  :)

Have a great day!

Project 365 Day 221

The first soccer game after our holiday!  These two friends were inseparable.  Too cute!

Have a great day!

Project 365 Day 220

With the good weather comes the yard work.  I almost finished the fence today, but ran out of stain.  Oh well.

Painting is one of those activities that should never really be too public.  The great clothes and hair...rubber gloves...socks in sandals...Hmmm.  Though I am covered in "oxford brown" in this shot, I don't think I was quite as orange as this photo shows.  Thanks, I think, to dh who took this lovely portrait for me today. :)

Have a great day!

Project 365 Day 219

I'm playing catch up tonight...Here goes...

A couple of days of rain makes getting out wonderful.  I love this butterfly and his smiley face.  The cutie in the helmet is also a favorite of mine  :)

Project 365 Day 218

And so it begins...I wonder how long it will take to sort and edit the mountain of picture files we created in Florida?  I expect to be looking, frequently, at this screen over the next few days.

Have a great day!

Project 365 Day 217

First day home...rediscovering toys and having adventures all over the house.  Too cute for words.  You take my breath away sweet girl!

Have a great day!

Woo hoo!  Guess who just landed their spaceship on Mars!  Mission Space was a highlight at Epcot today.

Have a great day.

Project 365 Day 212

Poppy taught dd how to make a fountain using pool noodles.  She quickly became a pro.  Here Nanny is coaxing her "Come on...Let's get Poppy!"

Have a great day!

Project 365 Day 211

My sweet girl got to open the Hoop De Doo Revue on Nanny's birthday!  A good time was had by all.
